Welcome to Angus Dog Rescue
Welcome to Angus Dog Rescue. Formerly part of Help for Abandoned Animals, we are now an independent registered charity. We are based in Arbroath, Angus and look after the county's stray dogs in addition to working directly with the public. We have been operating since 1997 and are staffed entirely by volunteers.
Most of our dogs come to us as strays via the Angus Council Dog Warden. The Council kennel the dogs for seven days after which time if they are not claimed or traced back to their owners they are signed over to our care for re-homing. We now have seven kennels and generally have at least three to four dogs available for re-homing at any time although this obviously fluctuates throughout the year. The new year is traditionally a busy time for most animal charities and in the current economic climate, most re-homing centres are seeing a steady increase in pets requiring re-homing.
Sadly the number of dogs looking for homes will always be greater than demand however it is our aim to care for these dogs to the best of our ability until they find their new forever home. We can only continue to do this with the support of the local community, by volunteering and by donations.
